A great time in Asheville

by Mac

A few weeks ago, we had the luxury of spending a long weekend in the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC.  It was awesome!  We know many of you were thinking of us as we went on our merry way, and want you to know how much your gifts mean to us.  Just in case ‘it was awesome!’ doesn’t quite get the message across, we had a great time.  Thanks!

If you’d like to see a few pictures from our adventure in Asheville, here they are.

Much love, and may you keep on rockin’ the Casbah!

Mac and April, we continue to hold you in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers as you pursue another route in the fight. As an aside, I wanted to share something about Mrs. Cannon for whom the Center is named. Sarah Ophelia Colley Cannon, aka Minnie Pearl, was a dear friend of our family. She graduated from high school with my daddy and, in later years, played a lot of bridge with Mother. Ophelia was born two doors down from Glenn’s childhood home, and her mother lived two doors up from my family’s home in Centerville, Tennessee. Her mother played the piano at church for years. I can see her now in my mind’s eye. She was practically blind and would hold her head back – with hat on – as she played with spirit and energy. Anyway, I’m going to take this as a good omen for April that there is a connection, albeit a “stretch.”
