I’m OK

by Mac

Hello friends. I can’t believe it’s been a week since April passed. It’s the hardest week I’ve ever had, but I got by with a little help from my friends (and family!). :)

Seriously, I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to stop writing thank you notes. So many people did so much for us. So many kindnesses and encouragements — April and I were so very fortunate to have had each other, and to have had you at the same time…’thank you’ is the best I can do right now. But it feels very inadequate.

I’ve decided that I’d like to continue writing on the blog. Partly because it’s a way that we can all keep April in our hearts and lives, and partly because I don’t think April’s through teaching me life lessons yet.

I don’t know how much I’ll write, or how often, but I’ll try to keep it interesting. It’ll mostly be focused on special moments with April and friends, and I’ll try to be consistent about how often I post.

I’d also like to open up the floor for others to write a post, if they feel called to do so, regarding April or any other happy, loving subject that you’d like to share.

I love you, and look forward to our continued conversations,

Mac

Mac, I cannot seem to break the habit of checking your blog site. For two years I’ve checked it regularly and become acquainted with April and the adult Mac. You have had a special place in my heart since your dear grandmother used to bring you to Mother’s Morning Out when you were a little tyke. That place is still there for you, and I am honored to be your friend. Thank you for sharing those wonderful words with all of us Saturday morning. I keep thinking about “figuring out” how to be more loving to others. I believe that was you and April speaking to all of us. Thank you for continuing to share with all your friends. Love and hugs to you… Anne

Mac,
I have been hoping that you would update with a post…as we are only getting your voicemail and we have been so concerned. I have been feeling sick with worry for you and your aching heart. I know this must have been the toughest week for you.
Nothing I say will make you feel better…but I hope some part of you feels comfort knowing how loved you are and how many people are in your corner.
If you feel like getting away and letting us spoil you, our door is always open for you.
We love you,
Francesca, Mark and Drew

Your friends are with you, Mac. Perhaps you could liven up your blog with a few stories about your virtuous friends in Midtown. Those stories were popular with your nephews last week. You should change the names to protect the innocent.

I’d change the names if I could, Scott, but I’m not sure who “the innocent” are!
